Christmas is over, but if you live in the northern hemisphere, it is probably still as cold as any other winter day. A few days ago, the kids and I decided to do some snowman- themed crafts since it was far too icy to go out and play. Here are some of the snowman craft ideas we found. These crafts are a great family time boredom buster.
Snowman Globe Craft For Family Time
One of the crafts that we made a few days ago was a snowman inside a snow globe. I had to prepare the main pieces for the craft since we had a toddler and a preschooler, but all- in- all this is a pretty easy craft. Even the older kids (6 and 9) seemed to enjoy it.
First, I cut a paper plate into the shape of a snow globe. I just cut most of the edge of the plate off. I left about a third of the edge on the plate.
Then, I traced the center of the globe onto black construction paper and cut it out.
In my original idea, I had cut the snowman shape out from white construction paper as well, but I forgot to bring it when I went over to the kids house. So I just gave them a silver crayon and helped them draw a snowman onto the black paper.
I gave them some different colored crayons and helped them draw the eyes, mouth, buttons, nose, scarf and hat on their snowmen.
Then they glued the black circle onto their paper plate and used paintbrushes to paint glitter glue all over their snow globe. Even the 1 year old seemed to have fun with this part.
I found this YouTube tutorial for a fun Snowman sock doll. This craft would also be great for family time. If you have a younger kid and an older kid, you could have them practice working together by helping each other make this craft.
If you want to make it into a game, have a "kids vs. parents" contest to see who can be the most creative with their snowman.

There are a ton of really fun crafts for family time fun! If you have an idea for one of your own, tweet it to me. I would love to see the other snowman- themed crafts your family comes up with!
I am a writer, nanny and artist who loves to see families have fun together. Family is so important and that is why I am so passionate about helping parents and children grow closer and learn to uplift one another instead of put each other down. My mom was a nanny and very creative, so I guess that's where I get my creativity and love for my family!
